    MSX 150 - New Owner

Well I got it in the water. The light flash's 10 times and I panick. Dam I hate when I post a stupid question. Onto the Jet Ski.

Wastegate moves freely and has a gray solenoid, so nothing here at this time.

    Problems:
1.) Surges at idle. Pretty rapid surigng as well.
2.) Will not re-start after running, then sitting maybe 5-10 minutes. Seems like it is flooded.
3.) Surges at WOT. This can be anywhere from 6900-7800. It is limiting, but it is not consistant. No red lights, no limp mode. I can massage it to run WOT w/o surging, but it takes time and a steady flipper. (7,500-7,600 @ 61 mph)
    4.) Possible bad gas.

    Solutions:
    1.) Check Intake for oil.
2.) Check sensors for oil, correct connections.
    3.) Replace gas.
    4.) Install BKR9EIX plugs.
    5.) Install 160 degree Thermostat.
    6.) Check compression.
    7.) ?

Think it could be the O2 sensor? All comments accepted.

This is likely caused by a faulty MAP sensor. Try swaping the boost sensor and the map sensor to see if things improve (they are the same).

The O2 sensor will not cause surging and rpm hunting. If the ECU determines the O2 sensor is bad, it will switch it off and run the engine in open loop. You can even run any MSX110 and MSX150 without the O2 disconnected.

99% chances your issue is caused by either the MAP or the boost sensors or both.

    Good luck.

These are the two in the intake track right? Now for a question. Should the gas tank be pressurized? I have pressure build-up.

BTW, I have oil in my intake track and my oil is creamy. Gonna tear it apart and clean it.
