How to connect PET 2500 to SHO

How do I have to connect and adjust the PET 2500 to the SHO engine to get correct rpm? There is no ignition cable which is leading high voltage. I fixed the PET 2500 with a zip tie on top of the ignition coil and tried all adjustments. The best I found was 2,3:4,6 but it reads me a top rpm of 8,600 on a stock FX SHO Cruiser, this can not be, cause the rev limiter is adjusted at around 7,700. Any advise?

make sure u are using the :41 setting, and most have got accurate readings as long as u wrap it real good around either the coil it self or the part under the coil.

also there are some pics on here just do a search

you can use 16 gauge wire for a longer lead wire. and wrap it with elec. tape.

    not working

    Hi guys,

I tried right now but itīs not working. If I wrap the cable around the coil the PET shows nothing. If I hold the PET on top of the coil, itīs showing maximum 3500 rpm even if the engine revs higher, with the adjustment 4:1. Did anybody try this?

Just want to clarify...Does the Pet 2500 work with a 4cyl SHO? I see some replies but this is all I could find regarding the 2500 series. In the directions I read it metions 3cylinder and I didn't read anything regarding 4. Just had my TT stop working and instead of buying over and over....I'm swinging for the fences. Thanks

Just make sure to remove it whenever it's not being needed.

I left mine on and even though the cover was on the ski, rain ruined mine.

Now I'm worried because the whole reason I was even buying it was because the PET-2500 is advertised as "waterproof". The last thing I want to do is spend $350 for one and then have something like rain kill it. I can't keep a boost gauge working for the life of me and just recently lost my TinyTach. The stuff I usually ride in is atrocious.
