    Bad VTS Gauge?

Hey guys, my vts gauge does not read properly. The VTS goes up and down but the gauge only moves a little and stays pretty much all the way down. Is this a bad gauge or something else? BTW its on a 99 SPX.

I have never run across a bad gauge but several VTS boxes where the sender stopped working.

The box is the more failure prone component. Check the boot where the arm comes out of the transom and pull the cover off the box to check for water (this is something a VTS equiped SD owner should do every couple of rides as it may save the box).

Just keep in mind, if the position sender has stopped working there is no fix short of replacing the box.

take your vts assemblly out of your ski and plug it into another machine that works correctly-- if that gauge does the same as your gauge then the problem is with the VTS module. That "feature" of the module is a know problem.

Wrong plug I do believe. Three on the SPX and only two on the XPDI...I think.

If you have an adaptor to connect the harness-- yes, but it is not a plug and play unless you have the adapter-- both modules use the same wires, but the connections are different and different lengths of leads.
