Project 97 Pro 785, the madness finally continues!

    Alright boys,

Its finally time to get this thing rockin again...

Here is where we are at:

The pipes are back from being fixed by the shipper. They shaped them back to form nicely without hurting the paint. The lips are still turned in a little too much, but I can take care of that with a screwdriver and a little force..alright maybe a little heat too, but they are for the most part ready to go. Certainly not the mangled mess they were when they got back the first time.

Right now the hull is patiently awaiting re-assembly in Hayward Wisconsin, and in less than one week I will be up there to start putting it all back together. Just got in a huge parts order with some real gems:

    Three stock pistons/rings/clips/pins
Three new top end crank bearings
SHINY new rub rails for the WHOLE damn hull
A crapload of rivets and plugs

Actually I think Polaris sent me too many rubrails...I have two long cardboard tubes, I open one of them up and I have a right hand rubrail...then I open the second tube up and I have a right hand and a left hand rubrail?!??! I only paid for two, not sure what happened.

So, what is left to buy?

Head kit...still cant decide on ADA or Hot Seat..
    Driveshaft and driveshaft alignment tool
    Drive coupler
    A few new pipe fittings

Thats it...Thats it!! Thats all I have left to buy for this damn thing!

So next Thursday I will head up and begin to do some body work on Thursday and then Friday we will begin engine re-assembly and figure out how to get the threads in the pipes cleaned up.

Here are some pics of the parts and the new rails! I have a hot seat splash gaurd to go on also. Its going to be a nice looking craft when its done...

BTW, the 99 in the pic is just acting as a table for the parts, it has nothing to do with the project, and is working fine.

As I recall Atlantic Power Sports just had the alignment tool on sale for less than 99 bucks.

Where have you been? I just sold a complete ADA head with extra domes on Ebay last week for $100.

I know I know, but something is really calling me to the hot seat one...

ADA is so much cheaper though.

    Virage,

Dont forget, they sent me one to many, so you could buy one from me if it was the proper side, I need to check.

Also, these are 98 rubrails, both sides are still available for that model, and I have been told they will fit the 97. I can't see any reason they wouldn't. Plus, for some reason they are cheaper than the 97's!

I havnt tried either place Al thank you. And model i dont think model year means anything about avalability b/c 97' sl hulls and 98' sl hulls all use the same rails as the pro i believe so if they are n/a for one they are n/a for all at least thats how its explained from my dealer I actually think all pro 785 no matter what year all use the same rails correct me if im wrong please
