What is a good cruise RPM for the Fuji engines, for fuel economy?

    4000, 4500, 5000, 5500?

id guess 4500 rpm, should be on plane, cruising a steady speed with minimal throttle. or a best speed for the least throttle. more will probably start pulling fuel from the high speed adjuster.

My 96 SLT 780 is terrible on gas. It says in the manual 50 miles at WOT, and thats about what I get... My tank is dry about the same time as a 00 SLX with a 1200. Considering the engine is much larger, and the tank is smaller on the SLX, thats not that great. But the SLT is a larger, heaver boat.

Mid range is probably a lot better, but it only does 49-50MPH clamped at WOT...

I think that there would be too many variables to give an accurate claim. Wind speeds, currents, choppiness (?), all would have an effect on the amount of fuel consumption to get from A to B.
