Removing the fuel rail / injectors on a 951 DI

Is it the same as the 4 strokes or is there a different method? Also, they recommend replacing the Carbon Dams and O-Rings after 50 Hrs, is this really necessary?

Sorry man...I've never workied on a DI!

And I rarely even click on the threads, but I saw some old Nick as the thread starter and had to see what was up.

Hope you been doing well over there!

To replace the carbon dam it requires a seal guide to install them onto the direct inj. and a compressor to install the inj. back into the cyl. head. The rail can be removed and taken apart no prob. because you only have o-rings to deal with. The rail seals to the direct inj with an o-ring as well. Don't know where you can buy these tools but found this rental option. Maybe someone can verify this guy to be legit at least. I personally don't know.

Thanks Ron. I hope the Dams are ok and won't need to be replaced.

RQ, thanks! Doing pretty good. Hope you and the new MRS. are doing well.

Steach, wow flash from the past. I don't hit the forums much anymore but it's great to see the old crew are still around.

It looks like a couple of 10mm bolts hold that fuel rail in. Hopefully the crank is in good condition. This DI motor is definitely different than the Carb'd version.

to pull out the air injectors is easy, undo the 2 13mm bolts holding down the injector block.
pull up on the block it should pull off the air injecors or they will come with it, either way seperate them, unplug the wires and your done.
the fuel injector requires you to undo the allen head bolts holding down the bracket that holds the injectors.
ive never changed the dams or used any tools to replace the injectors but its in the manual
