Fuel pickup (sender) for my 1997 GP1200

Obviously its not 100% necessary but it would be nice to fix my fuel gauge.

I've been told by krispaintballz that the sender from any GP will work as will senders from carbed GPRs.

Let me know what you've got. Thanks.

I believe there is a post on how to repair your sender. Have you searched it? I believe it was Billie or Mark that posted it.

John, thank you for the offer. I'm currently working with a couple of other guys on their fuel senders so I don't want to hold you up. M, you're up to bat on these right now.

If I need to, John, I'll contact you and see what you have leftover if my other deals fall through.

    Thumbs up

FYI . I bought two used senders and they all were bad the floats were gas logged and would not float, which is what goes bad on most sending units. I bit the bullet and bought a new oem sending unit from yamaha and it is designed totaly different to correct this problem it's a up dated replacement part. I am not trying to cut out any ones sale on used gauges just providing some experiance I have had with them . Tommy Jordan

Tommy, I appreciate you telling me about your experience with used senders. I'm pretty certain that my float is gas logged and its sunk to the bottom and that is why it is reading empty when it has plenty of gas.

On the other hand, a brand new sender will set me back a huge chunk of change.

Yes they are pricey for sure. I just didn't want people to sell or buy one thinking they were ok. Tommy
