metal shavings in oil filter! Advice?

Ok, here is the story, got in the the original Riva driveshaft buy and installed back in late Nov 2008, http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=79420 Shaft twisted and Riva made good and sent all new parts, did not put the ski back together again until July 2009, http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=98654 . That day I ran the ski for about 30 min. with no problems but never went over 8000 rpms. The next weekend I took it out and the first wot run I made the same thing happened as the first test with the Riva shaft....at 8500-8600 rpm the buzzer went off, the ski lost power and I shut it down, when I tried to crank it again it turned over very slowly and finally started except this time it sounded like a rattle somewhere so I had it towed and it has sat untouched until last night. The oil is gassed down pretty bad and these filter shavings were in the oil filter. I have a Rude 1, Riva ecu & 50lb. injectors, valvetrain, kit rear air, tstat kit, GH waterbox, RE blockoffs, skegs etc. My initial thought is that the cylinder walls washed down so bad that the engine partially seized up, anyone else experienced something similar?

Bearings. Question is if rod or main? Post some pics once you got it apart. Be sure check your crank for tolarances. Good
chance your oil pumps are shot as well.

Did this happen when you broke the riva shaft? If so, it could have jamed the crank forward or put pressure on crank.

    Good luck!

Who would you recommend to do the work? Bolt on stuff I can handle but do not have the time, or know how to rebuild the engine.

The Riva shaft just twisted the splines on the pto side, I had to replace the shaft, wear ring, prop and carbon seal as a result.

I am sure others will chime in with shops in tour area.
You can save yourself some money by pulling it apart and see how bad is the damage. If you have to ship motor you really don't want to pay to send bad parts. If You got a shop close then your better off by delivering.

Not sure if it happened then, I did not check the filter before running it with the replacement extension parts, maybe some damage occurred the first time and got worse the last time I ran it.
