OK to Tow Jet Ski in Water?

A little late asking but I was wondering if it's ok to tow our skis behind a boat?
I did yesterday for about a half hour at no more than 5 mph as it was raining and got in a cabin cruiser that I was out with.
I noticed upon starting it took a bit longer to fire up.

Yes, it's OK to tow. However, if you tow any faster, you really need to pinch off the hose for the cooling water inlet. It's possible for water being forced through the pump to work it's way back into the cooling system and flow backwards through the exhaust--into the cylinders.
