Are they just regular metal washers or am I missing something?

Special made. Good stuff. I have 15 hours on mine and don`t need to worry about eng contamination from failures. They should be good for 100 + hours.

Wait until you see the bill for repairing ceramic washer ingestion, then metal washers will seem like a drop in the bucket

The metal washers have changed the way I feel about my ski. After having a few sets of washers go through my ski and luckily getting it covered under warranty, I always rode my ski waiting for the other shoe to drop. Waiting on the next ceramic washer failure that cost me the big bucks. Also, didn't like taking it out alone because its a long painful ride back when you know ceramic pieces are shredding the inside of your engine.

Now that I have a metal washers on the ski, I feel like its the most bulletproof high performance ski on the market. Cranks everytime, runs 75 everytime, expecting a few hundred hours out of the setup now. No fear in solo riding or long repair waits anymore.

Les and Jerry have done the R&D for you. Bottom line, bite the bullet and get metal washers.

These are far from being just regular metal washers.

Each one is made by hand one by one. They are cut on a lathe, heat treated and ground, blasted and lapped to provide the right texture. Rockwell hardness closely matches that of the gear.

They are very time consuming to manufacture and this is probably the reason Rotax still uses ceramic washers on their superchargers.

washers for skis with 06 clutch kits
    http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=390

** just remember when ordering, the washers are not specific to the year of your ski, they are specific to the year of your supercharger clutch... if you have an 04 ski that had a clutch failure already and was fixed recently, then you MAY have the 06 kit... and if u have an 04-05 ski and it's all original and never had a failure, than u get 04-05 washers. make sense?

if your ski has upwards of 125-150+ hours, it may be prudent to rebuild the whole supercharger and get a fresh set of bearings in there...
