    Help with next upgrade

I just purchased a 2002 GP1200R with 35 hours on it. The previous owner has already installed the stage 2 kit. This kit was installed with the single pipe before they started putting the d plate and chip in it. I was just wondering what you experienced GPR riders would do next. This ski will run 73 MPH on the dream-o-meter at 6960 RPM and yes it does have a tiny tach but I do not own a GPS but it will be a priority purchase.

Give a break down of all the parts on the ski.... does it have a modded plate? stock heads? ect... then you can get some help! If you dont know because someone else put the stuff on there then people on here can help you figure out whats done to it!

Bro, not to be a smart ass, but did you see in my post where I said all that was done to the ski was a stage II kit? I thought a GPR rider would know what came in a stage II kit. It has the Riva plate, tabs, sponsons, heads, f/a's, grate, imp, pump seal kit, and it has the single pipe instead of the d plate and chip. Anyone else??

easy there. People want to help. He was only asking what "exact" parts you have installed inorder to help provide more information to members on this forum.

So, you mention the parts, is there more detailed information ?
The seller may have told you "Stage II", but in reality, if we know exactly what parts in detail, we can help you more.

Impeller: what brand ? what pitch ?
Heads: What brand? What compression do you have ?
    Grate: 1200 grate or 800 grate ?
Single Pipe; the CAT converter I assume is still in place sicne you mention it has no D-plate and chip. the D-plate replaces the Catalytic converter in the OEM pipe, or do you have the stinger pipe
F/A's: what brand ? were the carbs Rejetted?
    Tabs: what brand?
    Plate: RIVA, R&D ? Angled modded? Non-modded?

This is what is on the ski except for the plate and chip. The previous owner told me that the kit was purchased before thay started the plate and chip. He said the kit came with the pipe instead of the plate and chip. Like I said I wasnt trying to be a smart ass, I know I have read posts before and accidently skipped over things. Nothing from this kit has been altered. thanks in advance. And like I said, sorry if I offended anyone, I didnt mean it like that.

Start with finding a stock pipe, and add a D-plate.

You may want to incorporate the Jetworks mod too.

WFO, if you dont mind I would like a little reasoning behind the idea of a stock pipe and the plate. I am not doubting you, just curious. Also let me know where to find the jetworks mod.

The Riva Stinger and ProTec pipes were designed a while back to help low end power and drop temps under the seat by removing the catalytic converter. Unfortunately, they drop your top end rpms due to exhaust flow/backpressure issues. Just FYI they quit making the Stinger pipes. The stock stinger will yield more top end performance. The D-plate will remove the heat from the cat, and help with throttle response. The Jetworks mod removes the water from the waterbox for a better holeshot.

Do a search on Riva and read all about it.

You can get the Jetworks kit from Jetworks.net or Carl @ Island Racing.
