4TEC uses half of the gas of a SHO

Proven this weekend my FZR was on the buzzer, other FZRs were in the one line and my buddy with a 08 RXT-X was at 3/4 and changed to 1/2 just getting back to the marina.

Thats because you were having to go full throttle just to keep up with the RXTX at half throttle..

That is what happens when you have an extra cylinder to feed under the hood. My best friend Fzr fuel alarm goes on always when I am half a tank and we ride and fill at the same time...

All kidding aside, I have been amazed at the range I have been able to get from both of my 4tec's as long as I stay out of the boost for extended periods.

You forgot to mention the RXT was being towed for half of the ride because of a malfunction.

I ride with two guys on 07 GTX limiteds and they go on the buzzer at about the same time as I do. Alot of the time even before. We all can stretch it if we stay out of the throttle for sure.

The only difference is I don't have to use premium at the pump for the SHO. Oh...and rebuild my SC at 100 hours....and carbon ring....and ditch OPAS.....

I just rode 140 miles on my FZS and two buddies on RXTXs - our fuel use was damn near the same for the trip and most of the riding was 3/4 to WOT.

SHO has an 18 gal tank
    18 gal @ 2.65 a gallon = $47.70

RXTX has a 16 gal tank
    16 gal @ 2.95 a gallon = $47.20

That really is a moot point........ In SOME places. On lakes here sometimes you have a choice of 87 or 110. You do the math. I never liked running 87 in my RXP because I "had" to.
