    1996 SLX Polaris MFD

The MFD detects the RPM but the Miles per hour is not working. Meaning is not moving from 0 when the ski is running. What could be the cause? help please?

Make sure the clear hose is hooked up at the MFD and the pitot tube under the drive shaft.

That would be the battery vent tube. If you are using a traditional lead-acid battery, then the battery has a vent nipple on one end. The tube connects to the vent nipple, and vents any battery gasses to the outside of the hull.

If your battery does not have a vent nipple, then just leave the hose in the bottom of the hull.

If the PWC is ever flipped over, you need something to fill the hole in the hull where the rubber vent fits, so that water does not flow into the hull through the hole. It is best to just leave the vent fitting in place.

Is there no clear tube connected to the nipple on the back of the MFD?

If the tube is missing, then you can replace it with any small hose that fits the nipples properly.

The other end of the speedometer tube connects to a small nipple located under the drive shaft.

Do you have BOTH a digital MFD display AND an analog speedometer?

If you have BOTH and you want to use both, then you can Tee the hose connection, and connect both speedometers to the single hull pitot fitting.

Or just connect the hull fitting to the single speedometer you want to use.
