    PWC Lift Sling

    Has anyone used these? http://www.prohoists.com/1000_lb_PWC...saki,honda,etc

I'm considering trying it out but was unsure how it works and I really don't know if I can trust it. If I use it, it will only be to lift my Sea Doo on to the dock for storage or to work on it.

    Any input would help.

    Thanks!

i have used similar ones. they work fine, but make sure you get one that has the right capacity for your ski. for example, that sling would be at its limit with a gpr and a rider.

    sling

    Hey Addict,

I had one custom made by the shop across from mine. (They just happened to build the slings that lifted Sullenberger's plane from the Hudson) It's over-engineered and can actually lift multiple trucks. PM me if you want me to get you one. It'll be less than what prohoist is charging.

I have the 1500# capacity hoist. It is a little over kill but it works great.

Do not skimp on this one. I thought i had gotten a 1500lb sling and got a 750 instead. After a year working on my ski from under it i went out two days ago and found my ski on the ground and the sling torn at the seams. Pics over in the yamaha general section. be careful and dont make my mistake!

side note, they are awesome! aside from the fail job when over loaded but i suppose thats my fault.

i use that shit outta slings for my business... none of them last. INSPECT THEM OFTEN! ... i inspect mine just about every day... we've lost quite a few skis, but every single time it's been while lifting out of the water before we had the ski over land, so it would just drop to the water unharmed.

i've grown to dislike them really... but then against i'm lifting 20 skis a day in and out of the water all day, so my slings see ALOT of useage, and most of my clientele have 4-strokes. that's alot of ultra250s and iS skis that you figure are well over 1000 lbs with gas in them.

i only purchase the "1500lb" rated slings, and if you ask me they are grossly overrated.
