    Pro Stock Kawa Ultra 260 top speed 65 mph

    I'm pretty confused and if someone can help me, I would appreciate it

    I have builded Pro Stock Kawasaki Ultra 260 with all the mods you are allowed to do to Stock class including Motec and all I can get is 65 mph of top speed. There is nothing special on acceration of the boat so I'm confused. Is this the best you can get by using Motec? I saw someone claiming earlier that with Motec you will hit 73 but at least my boat is not even close to that figure.

    AFR is between 0.82 and 0.9 in all loads and rpm combinations.

    Any ideas?

    Don't worry..
    It's absolutely normal to get 65 mph!
    Motec creates a start file so that anyone can use their skis without problems...
    What you should do is install a lambda sensor from motec, measure your fuel exactly how it is , if it is lean, if it is rich and exactly where it is lean or rich get your log file and after all that contact pete from motec.com.au to tell you exactly how fast your ski can go by altering the fuel and ignition tables.
    70+ mph will come !

    I have run with Lambda from day one. The goal has been to build aggressive CC map and AFR in my current map is on between 12.5 and 13.1. Still the boat is slowest stock racing boat in Finland in holeshot...

    I think you are very right Skip about finding correct timing. In the base map it must be completely wrong because the performance is bad but also I have been problems to keep the engine even running and if I push the throttle all the way from start, the engine will die. I tried to race with it but the boat was slow and the engine died 6 times during the first moto so I swapped to oem ECU and after that there were no problems with boat.

    I haven't heard even one good cc racing Ultra with Motec in Europe. On the contrary people have sold their Motec to Yamaha racers and chosen different path with tuning Ultras (using oem ECU and mechanically increase timing advance).

    Currently I'm between in idea of selling the Motec or keep trying to get so benefit from it....

    If there isn't someone in Europe racing with motec you have a very very fast jet ski. You just don't know it yet...
    Call Pete from motec australia at +61 3 9761 5050 end_of_the_skype_highlighting tell him your afr and i am sure that he will help you fix your ignition map!
    If you are thinking about selling the motec at least give the motec a chance to show you it's true potential when it's finetuned before giving it away...
    Trust me i had the same problems...
    And now i have 72,1 top speed and no stock kawi can catch me in acceleration.
    The power has increased so much that i have cavitation and must send my stock prop for repitching...

    Base map timing sucks. Its a base off the stock ECU,

    Also search the KAwi Motec section for instructions in isolating the IC motor. Sounds like your IC is open and that causes all sorts of weird effects.

    Was hoping Motec would find a resolution to the IC control programming.

    is that a stock class set-up or are you running other mods ?


    your turning 8500rpm running a little under 14psi and running 79mph.... what else is done?
