Intake manifold -Stock
Why the factory puts that restrictive mesh on the intake?Maybe they have a reason to put it?Anyone had a problem using the intake manifold?

Some marine requirement to stop a flame as I understand it.
A flame would have to be pretty intense to get through an intercooler and supercharger and then out the filter.

I just had a thought that popped into my head from a long time ago. There was a rubber piece that held the ribbon in place and it was a bitch to get the ribbon out cause of this piece. Does it serve a purpose? What if there was a slight tear in this piece but it was still in fine shape beyond that. Could I lose boost from this? Maybe a dumb question but I figured I'd ask regardless.
On the OEM parts finder it is #19 under Intake 1. It is a seal. I just remembered that I had a tough time getting it out and it ended up getting a slight rip in it. I can't believe I forgot about it for so long. What an idiot!

yamahas responce "well they just cant"
"ahhh but mr yamaha how can you be sure?"
yamahas responce "coz i put a dirty great mesh in it mr testing man"

It takes about 30 minutes to get it out when you've done it a few times
Just take your time and remember to put all the wires back on when you're finished or it won't run.
