12F Seems stuck in LIMP mode
So a friend of mine goes out and tries to help a stuck boater while my friend was riding my 12F. WHACK!!!!
Sucked up a rope that the boater left in the water and didn't warn us about.
So I tow my friend back to the dock, we pull the sled out of the water, and proceeded to cut all the rope off of the impeller.
Start it up, it starts fine, no debris, nothing blocking.
However, the 12F won't go above something slightly above moving... like under 20mph at full throttle. It starts fine, runs fine...
What the heck do I do now?
Any thoughts and suggestions?

get a jet pump rebuild kit and possibly a new impeller

The problem is electronic, not physical, or so it seems. The impeller has no marks or damage, and their now seems to be far less throttle RPM available.
I have 6 JetSkis, and have never had a problem like this when we hit rocks, sand, ropes, or anything else. Obviously, a dinged impeller would lower the top end, but not by 25-40 mph. In this case, the impeller looks pristine.
Thanks for the thought though.

I would check the impeller clearance just to be sure, I had a 900 jetpump that got dropped while being shipped and it bent the pump shaft and the prop would drag on the wear ring.
what are the rpms?
i doubt its electrical, thats not something that would be affected by the impeller
check the compression you may have busted something internal

The forces on your 12F are much different than the forces on your older ski's. Same basic pump & shaft, but hella lot more power/torque.
1. What were the rpms? I don't suggest starting ski anymore until problem found.
2. Pull the pump and check it out.
3. If pump is fine check compression.
4. Hear any odd/strange noises?
5. Check plugs.
Keep us informed of what you find.
Some later models have a limp mode. I don't know much about this or how to diagnose/re-set. Mine also has a code you can enter to limit r's. Never done it so don't know squat about it.

That Rob Schneider?

How many revs can or will it do with this problem??????
Cause if its doing full revs !! than its your pump/prop cavitating from the damage the sucked up rope caused
if it wont rev fully then either its still your pump not allowing the prop to spin freely as mentioned or
possibly engine related ( but doubt I it)
if it was running fine just before the rope saga
then you dont need the internet to tell you whats wrong
