    Fuel filter for EFI?

Just wondering, anyone ever installed a fuel filter in line from tank to throttle bodies? I know there is some kind of filter at the pump in tank. Is another one necessary? If I will put one, will this affect the flow/performance?

    Thanks Emil

I wouldn't bother with adding a filter. There is a nonservicable filter surounding the fuel pump. I wouldn't want you to create a flow issue and lean out your fuel air ratio if you chose a filter which is to small.

    filter cleaning

is it recomended to pull out the pump at least maybe every 100hrs or so and clean the fuel filter on the botton.Service manual recommends and shows steps in disasembling and removing but doesn't really give a maintenance time frame, other than a 200hr clean out the gas tank in the recomended maintenance interval chart

wouldnt be a bad idea, just be sure to get a filter that can handle the correct pressure

dont really come across too many clogged sock filters, but have had a few injector screens clog, and injectors fail

oem sock can be cleaned out with solvent and re-used

OK, I will look into this, maybe I will find a big one with a good flow and a metal housing. Did anybody installed one?

Look at Ross's 4 stroke conversion, I had spoken to him about this as well, You need one that will handle the PSI. He installed one on his ski and that same filter can be used inline on an EFI 2 stoke as well.

Ok, I will check that. I don't trust that sock in the pump and to clog an injector would be catastrophe.
