Another timing broke on 701 61x

Before I send my 701 crank to crankworks to be inspected because it keeps breaking timing keys. Could a flywheel also cause of timing key to break? I'm just going through my option before i tear down this motor over such an annoying issue.

Take some valve grinding compound and lap the flywheel to the mating surface on the crank.

Once you have a good overall mating surface, try it again with a new key.

If it breaks then, you got a major problem. We use to run micro-stock car engines with no keys, just a lapped flywheel/crank snout and the flywheel never moved. Think taper in a Bridgeport VMC.

If you still need help, let me know and I will look at it in person.
