2003 Polaris MSX 140-What is this hose for?
I just bought a 2003 Polaris MSX 140. I found a disconnected hose in the back engine area of the Polaris. I cannot find where it should connect to. The other end connects to the fiberglass hull up under the steering. Is it a drain hose to the bilge area or is it something else? See attached pdf for more pictures.

This is the battery breather used on wet type lead acid batteries. It needs to be connected to the breather on the battery if it is this type. If it is an AGM or similar gel battery you don't/cant use it. Tidy it up an keep it in case you need it in the future.

Thanks a bunch. I didn't want to run my waverunner till I knew what this hose was for. Now I just need to confirm what kind of battery I have.

As others have said, that is the battery vent hose.
If you don't have one installed already, be sure to buy a factory sealed AGM type battery next time. AGM is simply a much better battery for PWC use
