RXP trough hull exhaust over heat

I was going across the lake and the exaust tone changed then the alarm sounded that exaust over heat. I killed the motor and let it cool. cranked it back up and it sounds quite. I have shorty water box and trough hull so its pretty loud.It has a weird noise like air and alittle motor sound from the exhaust. Ive checked intake grate for trash, nothing. Checked impeller no damage. I have only 30 hours on the ski. any help will be appreciated thanks

Could have a blockage in the waterbox. Baffle pieces maybe.

I had the same thing happen to me 3 years ago, you will most likely find a waterbox baffle piece that came free and is now trapped about 10 inches or all the way up to your exhaust exit. It may even be trapped before the top curve of the exhaust pipe. Let us know what you find...

Make sure the pissers going to the water box are not blocked. I dont think the shorty if it is greenhulk waterbox have baffles. Mine did the same thing and then burned a hole in the box when the pissers clogged with debris. I drilled mine out a little for more water flow and put a stariner in.

Had same issue last year and it was a piece of the baffle that came loose and was no letting the exhaust out the waterbox it kept clogging the outlet hole.
