    slt 780 hitting rev limiter??????

    hey guys i have this 96 slt 780 im trying to get on the water.. i took it to the ramp after installing the jet pump and i left it on the trailer to make sure it was doing fine and at first it sounded great it had a slight boog off the throttle but cleared up fine then it started to sound like it was hitting the rev limiter at wot so i took it home and i have been playing with it for days now and still no change..

    things ive done

    change all three coils
    change cdi
    change regulator/rect. cutoff
    and low fuel/overheat
    also snipped the water temp wire ...

    it starts up fine and idles like a dream but as soon as you hit the trottle it hits the limiter i put a spark tester on it and started it up and the spark was good and consistant but as i hit the throttle the spark became weak and inconsistant along with the motor it did this on all three plugs..

    what is up with this P.O.S.

    i thought it might be the carbs but IDK...

    disconnect the gray wire from the cdi and see if that cures it

    that did it what does that gray wire do i unplugged the cdi gray wire ...

    the rev limiter when you cut the temp wire or if your low on oil or fuel it will put the ski in limp mode so either hook up the temp wire again or just leave the gray wire off and call it a day

    cool how can i pin point what it is

    so apparently i have a bad fuel or oil or temp sensor

    yep is the fuel and oil gauge working and atleast 1/4 full if so then i say it's the temp sensor

    you know what i think the fuel level on the guage has one bar but it has a full tank... damit man you the shizzz with a z
