removing pto coupler without special tool...any suggestions?

So I am trying to remove a pto coupler from a crankshaft on a 95 sts750 from hell. The customer already had a "genius" change the fuel lines and install them backwards effectively smoking the pistons because there was zero fuel going to them...anyways I need to get this PTO off because I didn't have the brain capacity at the time to order it with the rest of the replacement parts. I've tried clamping the snout end of the crank while tapping the PTO with a punch and a hammer to no avail.

Help me out...will applying heat do the trick?

Is the motor still together? or just a loose crank?

loose crank...called a friend who had the tool and has been a small engine mechanic for 20+ years...no luck. He had to smash the piece off with a hammer to get it off.

a little bit of heat and secure the crank. it should come loose. the heat will expand the coupler and loosen the tension. apply antisieze upon reinstall.

I secured my crank and used a cheap chain wrench from the plumbing dept. at Home Depot. Left a slight mark on the side of the coupler, but nothing that rendered it not usable.

I use a pipe wrench and a little heat, it will leave some markes but it works everytime
