I beleive it is inside the fuel tank.

DI's have an 'Canister' type External Filter in-line with the Fuel Line output.

from the Fuel Tank and both the DI and 4-Tec have a 'Pad' type Fuel Filter at the bottom of the Fuel Pump assy. which rests against the bottom of the Fuel Tank.

Surprisingly, not all model parts diagrams show these Filters, but be assured, they are there and need to be replaced about every </=80 hours run time.
All DI's Fuel Filters will work on all DI Models and all RXP, RXT and GTX 4-tec Pad Filters will cross-fit but the RX_-X Models may be different Pad sizes/fitment.
I have been told the 4-Tec Fuel rails have an internal Filter as well, but have never seen one.
A clogged Fuel Filter on an Injected Engine can cause some really squirrley problems up to and including the replacement of a burnt out Fuel Pump @ >$450+
