    Problem with new Impeller

I recently put in a 15/22 impeller. Before I installed the new impeller the wear ring was in great shape not a nick in it. Now after inspecting just 2 hours of use the 15/22 has worn into the wear ring and it seems after each ride it gets worse. But i'm not positive without tearing it apart again. Is this a normal thing? Is the 15/22 a larger diameter then the stock or did i install it wrong some how? Here are some pictures...

same thing happened when i put my 15/20r im pretty sure its normal as long as it doesnt get really deep and start cavitating. now that i look at your first pic alittle more that does seem abit more then the usual wear from a new impeller

The 15/22r is a little taller prop from your stock one. The worn in your wear ring its normal. You need to see my SS wear ring. You will have a flip..

When I went to install my 15/22R this winter noticed that it was rubbbing on the wear ring to the point where I could not turn the impeller by hand. What I did was mark the areas of the impeller blade that were rubbing with a sharpe, disassembled and then slowly started filing down the top edge of the blades. It took several iteration but this method gave a real tight fit without gouging the wear ring.

The best for this is not to star you ski with out water on the pump

    This is not normal wear.
My 15/22 spins free when out of the ski, when i put pump in the ski,i have the same problem.
Mine is eaten worse then yours and some melted plastic on the prop.
This will cause cavitation, and loss of holeshot and speed.

I had to do the same thing when I changed the impeller in my RXT that I recently sold.
