    Arrow Garmin GPSmap76CSx GPS

    Garmin GPSmap76CSx GPS

List price for this GPS alone when new is $400 ($305 from Amazon), but I am asking $200 for the unit plus the following accessories.

My price includes the friction bean bag and smooth surface mounts, the Gilsson neoprene carry case, and the Gilsson external amplified antenna.

This waterproof, rugged GPS unit is ideal for use on the water. Color display is clearly readable even in direct sunlight. Rubberized exterior.

This is the same GPS model that fits directly into some Sea-Doo glove box lids.

This GPSmap76CSx is in good working condition.

It works well for speed display, tracking and back tracking.

Edit: I talked to Garmin Support, and they walked me through a bunch of tests, unit resets and updates, and tweaked some settings.
It now loads large map sets properly.

I have used it several times since, and it works as it should.

Also included is the Garmin bean-bag friction mount and a separate Garmin dash mount.

The GPS solidly clips into the Garmin mount, and has a sliding latch on the back of the mount to keep it there.

There are some rub marks from using it in the mount, but otherwise it looks good.

It can track 12 satellites simultaneously, and provides accurate location and speed data when it has a clear view of the sky (as every GPS requires).

Also included is a Gilsson external GPS antenna. This is a high performance amplified antenna that increases the GPS sensitivity and accuracy. The antenna module is very compact, with a long cable and 90 degree MCX connector.

If you position the small Glisson module where it has a clear view of the sky (say in the hood or nose of the PWC), the Garmin GPS will then report maximum signal strength and accuracy, with faster GPS start-up times.

The GPS works very well without the external antenna, it just works even better with it

Last piece is a Gilsson Neoprene GPS Carrying Case

Yes, this is def. the same Garmin unit that SeaDoo made a glove box lid for. And it works great. I've logged hundreds of miles on mine w/o it ever coming loose. I've even trailered it home on the SD b/c I forgot to remove it at the ramp.

It's ashame it's not storing data on the card; I wonder if it can be sent back to Garmin for a refurb.?

I talked to Garmin Support, and the problem has been resolved. Map data loading into the unit is now operational.

It is now sitting on my desk with about 70MB of marine chart and road map data loaded
