Wave Jumping and VTS and General Tips?

Now, from what I know about wave jumping, you wanna land as vertical as possible to make as little hull impact as possible.

So I was experimenting this weekend with my RXP-X actually get the best and softest landings when VTS is all the way up (ie. bow up)...can anyone comment on this?

I tell ya with a 3 foot chop the Sea-Doo came about 3 feet out of the water and was prolly on at least a 60 degree angle...best landing to date.

Of course I make sure to finger off the throttle to save the SC...

Any comments on this method or share your wave jumping tips ...safety and of course what's best for the machine...

There are many great wave jumpers, 4 strokers aint even close to the top.. Stand ups, wave blasters, seadoo X4 hulls are all good. And as for landing it all depends, if the waves are suitable for doubling then landing ass down isnt the best. Anytime spent in the air is good time! Stay off the throttle in the air not just to save your S/C, but also to save anything from twisting from the driveline to the crank!

Yeah I know...4-strokers are heavier, but that's what I have. lol

What would twist? I assume you mean when the engine is rev'ing high and then bam sudden intake of water again?

Thats correct, that impeller spinning at high rpm then having to push a ton of water after re-entry aint good for it! You can snap diveshafts or spin the crank, although bangin the motor off the rev limiter while up in the air sounds great (), not the best thing for the machine!
    Happy jumping!
