    rrfpr or x ecu

Question is this. With a 215 motor, x charger, 42's, external ic, 4inch intake... couldn't I just get a stock x ecu (used) rather than messing with a rrfpr? To me, this set up is essentially the x boat minus the nozzle size difference so why the rrfpr and not just switch out to a x ecu? Am I missing something?

I was considering the same thing at on time and I am not 100% positive that it would not work, but when the ecu are programmed on the buds program at the dealer, it reads the data from the ecu and might not alow the serial, engine, and model numbers of an older ski that is different to sync up. If you do try it and it does work properly please let me know cuz i would like to do the same

07 skis can runs the 08 X ecu's, and yes running a X ecu will enable u to run a x charger and IC kit with 42s and no RRFPR. X ecu does not like higher RPM as the 07 is good for about 8200 before its pulling timing.

What RPM's are on target for an X-ECU before it starts pulling timing?

What would one need to do to install this on an 07? just take it to a dealer and have buds activate it?

Will only the 08 X-ECU work with 07's? or will any 08-10 X-ECU work with an '07?

If this is true then I think I will take this route vs. The rrfpr... I would venture to be curious if one does this and changes the nozzle to 87, 88 (rxpx size) how the whole shot would compare to a stock x boat. Granted the tunnel is smaller on the x

Umm this i am not certain what year X ECU's will work with the 07s but from what i have seen 8000 to 8080 is the limit on the X ecu, the 07s stock ecu is good till about 8220,8240.

That would mean the rxp would get more out of the xcharger than the rxpx right? Doesn't the charger produce 10.5 psi at 8100?

    Good point.

Only at what rpm does the X-harger loose its efficiency?

Either way, it sounds a safe bet for a few 100 rpm.

The 07 limiter is supposed to be 8200RPM.
