    Problems after supercharger rebuild

Last week I rebuilt the supercharger in my 2007 RXP and did the update to the 2008 kit and RIVA clutch washers. I dumped it in the river Saturday night and everything seemed fine for the first 10 min or so.... ran a few miles down the river and took it up to 8100 RPM and then it fell on its face and would drop down to 4500-5000 and would not go above that and at points would jump above that for a second then fall on its face again. ended up limping it back to the dock and loading it up and taking it home and pulling the supercharger back off and checking the adjustment of the clutch again and everything seemed ok per the instructions that came with the kit. what should I be looking for here? clutch slipping? something else wrong?

Have you tried installing a fresh set of spark plugs?

We all hate to admit that a common 4-stroke engine can eat spark plugs so quickly, but it seems that these boosted, high performance 4-tecs do exactly that... and yet the plugs usually "look" perfect.

Jerry is probably right... change the plugs and all will be good!

FYI - I let mine sit too long but drained the old fuel, added fresh fuel & FI cleaner. First time out it took off like normal but then did the same thing you described. I ran almost a full tank of fuel out b/4 it started running normal again. Oh & I nvr touched the plugs but then again I do have iridium’s. Certainly wouldn't hurt to change them out though with that many hours.

Its been sitting since November of last year with a 1/4 tank of fuel in it. I picked up new plugs today but did not get off work till almost 8:30 tonight so did not get a chance to try it out yet...

Yeah well mine actually sat over 2 yrs & with the same amt of fuel. Since I had iridium plugs I just cleaned them, they cost abt $10 apiece, & added fresh fuel, FI cleaner & like I sd after I ran almost the full tank out it was back to normal.

If urs does the same thing mine did it will run intermittently meaning u will c anywhere from 6000 rpms up to the normal 8100+ until u get that crap gas out. Oh & with the hrs u have I would def change out the plugs

    Good Luck,
