    please help, it never ends, carburators now

    As some of you know i was ripped off royally by some dirtbag in rhode island, and ive been working around the clock it seems like to fix his hidden hackjobs on everything, so now i rebuilt the carbs awhile back and the engine loaded up too much at idle but i didnt care because i needed to rebuild the engine anyway which i just got done doing, and now im checking the carbs pop off for the first time with a minuki guage, and i cant even pump it high enough to get it to pop, i put the hose on the inlet, and blocked the return (im assuming thats all i need to do) and then pumped away. i was able to pump it up to 55psi and still got no pop but couldnt pump any farther because around 30psi the fuel pump side of the carb starts to leak air out of the gasket area!! i cant afford anymore repairs right now im out of work after surgury and i can only do bench work like this no heavy lifting so ive been trying to get this back together. but i have no more money availible for this thing right now, and i dont know what to do because i couldnt get it to pop off and i dont know what to do about the leak? can somebody please help me out here im not good with carbs either.

    It will give you a good idea of how and what to do with your carbs..

    Beerdarts offer is pretty tempting.. you should consider it if you are struggling with them..

    i looked thru that whole guide and i dont seem to be doing anything wrong, i mean unless im crazy, the fuel pump just isnt holding pressure, and my pop off is probably crazy high, and my needle arm isnt sitting flush its raised. so now if i could get the pump to stop leaking id be able to tune the pop off, (if i even knew where it should be) i dont know, all i know is i had hernia surgury and they wont take me back to work for 6 weeks even though im capable of working, so im trying to get this thing going.

    Beerdart, i might take you up on your offer if your not busy because im really not too good with carburators and id like to learn. i dont want to trouble you though.

    and what kindof popoff pressure should i look for if i can even get them to stop leaking? its stock jetting

    Pop-off on stock carbs is 82 PSI (1.2 N&S and Gold spring)
