    I need a 97slt780 oners manual

    I see lots of info on 96,s & 94,s.
    any help would be great

    There are a lot of similarities between all the 780 model years.

    Welcome to the Hulk. The 96 and 97 are basically the same.

    Ive got a 97 SLT 780 and I use the 96 manual and the service manual covers 92-98

    fuel system diagram
    the 97 dose not have reserve on gas switch, just on or off

    Thanks for the welcome
    I now have a 96SLT780 manual
    I have gotten a lot of great info in the tech. section
    Next question, old owner put a resister in line on wires in elect. box of the gas gage , no gas reading on MFD
    Next question, with no reserve & no gas gage, I just run out of gas?

    Is the MFD present?

    Does it work at all?

    The PO most likely installed the resistor because the fuel float is bad.

    You can test the float (drop it in a cup of gas and see if it floats. If it doesn't, it's bad) OR just buy the replacement from places like John Zigler or Sharp's Marine for $30.

    If the float was bad and read low, it would put the ski in limp mode and the red light would flash. The PO installed the resisitor to trick the MFD into thinking it was full all the time.
