    2003 Gp1300R or 2005 Vx Sport??

1 is raw power and the other is good for pulling skiers and inflatables, 1 is good on economy the other ...is raw power.

Which is going to be the better all round ski?

assuming they are both in good shape. and a good buy.
i would definetly go for the GPR. i had an 2003 model. wonderful ski. not a fuel hog in my opion. lots of power. good ride jumps waves very easily and stable in the air.
100% more fun than a entry level 4 stroke.
the only issue i had was the cat. which goes out on average about 50 hours. mine went out at 100 hours.
i would of loved to of kept it. but, i rode a SHO and knew i had to sell it to get the ultimate 3 seater.
but, the only regret is the 2003 GPR has the old pump. i would reccomend a 2005 or newer GPR. They have the HO pump and a better(tuned) exhaust minus the power valves.
    just my .02
