    2000 XPL Wont start,

ok I searched but nothing is similar to my topic.

    Here is the deal.
it was working fine about 2 days ago.
left it out on the sun and wanted to start it today.

I stick the key and it the gas/trim gauges wont come on.
i pressed the start button with the key off to see if the gauges would come on
I can jump the ski and turns over fine, my grounds are fine. Battery is fine.
I tested with my volt meter, from the positive on the batt, to any ground in the engine and I'm getting good voltage, same as the voltage on the batt.
    all fuses are fine.

How do I test to see if i'm getting power to mpem.

Check the schematic for your bike. I believe it will be a red/purple wire. Don't forget to power your ground to check continuity. For some reason the sticky is gone for the manual downloads. Im going off of the 99 xpl schem. That shows the + wire on connector 3-26 and the ground on 3-24 of the mpem. Check for power and ground to the lanyard as well. Look for broken wires. A guy just had this problem No power up what so ever but it would crank when the solenoid was jumped. He found a broken ground. I believe the lanyard + is Wh-gry on 2-8 and ground is blk 2-7 at the mpem. Hope that helps. The blk with yellow is the read wire. I think. You might want to verify but pretty sure that is correct.

No pin locations at the mpem. The first number refers to connector and the other is the pin location. There may even be another ground at 2-2. When powering grounds all you are simply doing is connecting your test light to battery + then probing the ground wire to see if it lights.

Ok then what do you mean by have juice on 24? It's black right. That should be ground. With the connector 3 disconnected did you power the ground like I described ? 25 should go to the VTS . I would do the same at the DESS terminal to. Connector 3 should be hooked back up then disconnect the lanyard connector from the mpem and test at the mpem side. Find your power wire. The one that has power all the time. and like wise power your ground. Not the read wire. Like I stated earlier not exactly sure which is the read wire. I am assuming it is the black with yellow. Verify that part.
