A couple of performance questions for a new ski owner

I just purchased a 2004 GP1300 and have a couple of riding questions.

Is it common for the nose of the ski to take on a bit of water at idle speeds and what causes the ski to rock from side to side at time when running?

Thanks for any help, I have ridden them quite a bit but this is the first one I have owned.

    rocking

thats called 'chine walking", the ski rides off the keel and on its chines, it slices through the water better i think. Most various ski owners feel its the best ski hull made, BUT ONLY ON FLAT WATERThe nose goes under because the bow has a low ''dead rise'' , thats the hull design of the GPR

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong in terms of trimming up and down when the nose was going under. It is a great riding ski thus far, I'm just trying to learn as I go.
