engine rebuild questions - ran LEAN
Turns out my carbs were not working correctly. Had adjustment screws drilled but they were not professionally done, long story short I don't trust my carbs.
Looking to replace all three carbs, one scored cylinder, and three burnt pistons.
Would you guys suggest going with new pistons and honing the cylinders, or just swapping some good OEM used pistons in there? Most everyone on here wanting to sell a cylinder wants to include the matching piston.
Also, the wristpin bearings on all three pistons look great. The were included with my Hot Rods crankshaft when I bought it. Is there any advantage to keeping the HotRods wristpin bearing or just replacing it with OEM?

Those are some really loaded questions, especially without pictures.
I would suggest you go to a pro like Richard Patterson (WFO) and let him take a peek at your components and give you his imput. I do not know of anyone who has walked out of his shop doing worse then when he walked in. He works on the west side of Houston... not to far from you.
In the end, you are going to find he put you on the right track, and reguardless of what it cost, it will be less then if you figured the problems out by yourself.
