i am glad to see that you disconnected the air breather(crankcase breather) from your air intake.

Is the specter air filter a flame arrestor? And what is the importace of removeing the crankcase breather hose? Just run a small breather filter for crankcase hose?

the idea of removing the crankcase breather hose is so you are not sucking in warm, oily air.
i have a spectra air filter on my air intake. that filter works great.
you can get the jd catchcan and remove the entire big box where the hose is attached too.
gives you alot more romm in the engine compartment.

Home made air system with 4" kanaflex and a spectre filter. I also added the adapter to suck outside air in. Hope to have this installed soon.

    that is alot of kanoflex.
that kit looks alot like the jd air intake kit.
except for the mount and mounting plate for the filter.

That is 5feet of Kanaflex which is the minimum that Mcmaster Carr sells.
I will be cutting it to the proper length once i get closer to install time.
May look like JD's but its not, also much cheaper.
