nope...Just lift it high enough to get the mount out. A 2X4 will give enough leverage.

You are going to want to redo the alignment.

I just did this over the winter and am leaking some now, due to (my guess) alignment.

I have the SBT tool, but it did not come with instructions.

Anyone have a link or .pdf or word doc of the instructions?

I used a Piranha front mount. Install was easy. I hope alignment will be, too!

    Thanks David!

I didn't know you had one. I want to do this sometime maybe close to final preparation to the Hydro. I'm not in a rush to do it now. I will let you know to use your align tool.

I think the instructions in how to use this tool in the Seadoo Shop Manual. I don't know if David has the instructions. If he does would chime in and send it to you.

Alignment is easy - bolt the plate to the shaft holder - bolt it to the pump. add a little lube. Install the adapter into the pto all the way. Slide the alignment shaft in. You will see if the shaft inserts easily into the adapter or if is misaligned. Adjust the motor with shims if needed. Search the forum for alignment pictures

i had to remove my drive shaft bearing, the sbt adapter would not fit into it. did have to add 3 shims for solid mount. 03 sportster

You should be able to insert the apter into the carrier - It is a snug fit - a little grease helps. It is easier to view with the carrier removed.
