My New 1993 Wave Blaster
Well after exchanging PM's with Mike Peavler last night I decided it was time to pull the trigger on a 93' Blaster. The machine is completely stock and still has the oil injection and choke plate. Overall the ski looks very clean and compression checked out fine at 150/152. This unit has the 61x 701 engine. I am not going to run this ski until I convert it to premix. I'm thinking a carb cleaning right now wouldn't hurt either. The bottom of the ski is stained from sitting in the water I assume but I already tested a patch out and with some colorsanding it will buff out. Is it O.K. to colorsand the purple hood and hull or is that paint?

I'd take some ARDEX 1500 liquid polishing compound to it all and see where it gets you..

I went out on my first real ride today and put 8 gallons through the unit. I put in a new fuel filter, replaced the old fuel line, removed the oil injection system, put in fresh plugs, and installed a new Odyssey battery. Thanks to Peavler and Kris for directing me to find those vaccum plugs to cap the old oil system. The unit performed beautifully and sounded strong the whole time. I was most amazed with the agility and maneuverability this ski has. Although very hard to board, especially in rough waters, I was really satisfied with my purchase. Peavler told me that its going to take "3 weekends" to understand how to ride this beast and I believe him. This ski isn't like any old sitdown, but its also for this reason that I found it most enjoyable. I'm going to try to make it out tomorrow and upload some video.

I put another 5 gallons through it today and it ran real strong. One question I have about the unit is where is the pisser? Also I have an Ocean Pro F/A available to put on it. Do I need to rejet if I do this and what will it get me?
