Rpms jump from idle to 2500, normal?

Thought I would ask this in a separate thread ... RXP, mods in signature, but also have cam timing right at 150 psi and throttle body mildly ported. Ski runs great, idles great at 1850, but when I go to give it even just a tiny bit of throttle in a no wake zone, it jumps right to 2500 rpms and I can't maintain rpms any lower ... its either idle or 2500 rpms on up. It is also very smooth at 2500 rpms, not a problem, just don't remember it being this touchy/responsive down low and I think I used to be able to maintain 2200 - 2400 rpms in previous summers ... maybe my current setup has changed this?

No concerns, ski rips, just curious if others can increase rpms by 100 or so from idle on up, or if most skis jump from idle to 2500ish rpms.

Thats possible ... but all I did was dremel the lip and transition it in about 1/2 inch on the entry ... just minor 'clean-up' basically.

I can slowly increase rpms and can hold rpms at 2000, 2100, 2200, etc without jumping up. I have a unmodded stock TB and it was reset when I changed ecus. Maybe look for vac/boost leak or obstruction.

Sounds like I might possibly need a TPS reset ... but that makes me nervous since others have had rpm loss after a reset. I know that is not normal, but at least two other folks posted recently that their ski ran great until the dealership reset the TPS.

I have never taken my ski to a dealer ... and honestly would prefer to keep it that way. But, if I need the TPS reset I may have to. Any tips or thoughts on making sure the dealer does not screw something else up if I bring it in for a TPS reset? I sure as hell don't need or want any automatic BUDS updates getting into my Riva ECU or anything else ...

    tps

remove the t/b and ecu and send to Riva.
