the only bits of copper coloured metal in a rotax engine are the big end and main bearings which have to wear thru the white metal first till the copper shows, hope this is not the case tho cos that engine is dead untill it gets rebuilt, get it looked at by a mechanic friend, if i'm right will you consider selling as i see your in south england, many regards bill

it sounds like the original ceramic supercharger washers colapsed some time ago and not being retrieved from the engine oil screens, when new ones where fitted, but the old debries will block the oil system causing oil starvation, hence worn out main and big end bearings, and siezure, talk to the guy you bought it off ask him if its had metal supercharger washers? even tho its not going to mend things, wish you luck

Could be broken flywheel bolts that would rip the copper stator assembly up. Timing chain would sling the copper all over the valve cover. Bearing material would get caught by oil filter.

timing chain is still there and defiantly looks like copper bits ....they are mainly up towards the timing chain end of the block.

    thanks

+1 I dont think you would see too much big eng bearing mess in the top end, also when they go it looks more like little shards of gold, normally in the oil filter. R88
