Info From Dealer
I talked to my dealer today and he told me he went to a demo in Anaheim, CA, and rode the 250X. He was very impressed with it. He said Kawasaki had an RXP there and they lined them up. Kawasaki had a guy who races stand up's there and he was the one riding the 250x when they lined it up against the RXP. He told me the KAWI pulled the RXP by 5 lengths in the first 100FT. I have a hard time believing that, but I have no reason to think this guy is lying to me. He knows I have no intention of buying one and he told me he would call me when they get one in so I could ride it.
Another thing I found interesting was he said the speedometer showed 68. Maybe Kawi has found a way to make the speedo accurate.

5 boat lengths in 100ft ..... I would say that was a slight exaggeration by your dealer. You figure the RXP is about 9 feet long so that would be 45 ft in a 100ft race. That would theoretically make the Ultra 250x about 2x as fast as the RXP.
1 boat length I would believe, 2 maybe.... anything beyond that I would say is wishful thinking.
I sure as hell hope he is right because I AM buying one of these bad boys.

Actually it would make it twice as quick as the RXP since we are only talking the first 100 ft. The 15f already has a quick start with only the 900 lbs of thrust. Imagine over 1500 lbs, you could easily be 2 boat lengths in the first 30 ft. Remember one boat length is just as the rear meets the nose of the other so at 2 boat lengths you are actually only 9 ft in front. I would love to see this thing in action.

What dealer was that Brandon?

I am sure he is exaggerating some. The other day I figured up the horsepower to weight ratio on the RXP and the Ultra 250. They both have .27 horsepower per pound. I know this figure is not the only determining factor for holeshot performance, but it plays a big part. I can't see either one of them winning a drag by more than a length or two. It is going to be interesting.

I think that new big pump will be great for holeshot

Would like to see the RXP put in its place but I don't think the performance is going to be a vast difference to the RXP as they share the same power to weight ratio.
Don't forget the RXP has got 55 more bhp than the 15F but it is also 30kg heavier, the 15F gives the RXP a run for its money. The Ultra only has 35 more bhp than the RXP but the RXP is over 50kg lighter.

What size is the RXP pump?

Some of this stuff is funny ... the GPR has had a 155mm pump for six years now, and the RXP & RXT pump is bigger yet at 158 mm ... I think the Kawi will have a great holeshot, but ...
