On your way to the bath room at 1030pm, you pass through the kitchen and notice your 17yo sitting on the counter with her feet up talking on a cell phone. You stop...and in a calm clear voice tell her to get her feet and ass off the counter and when she's finished talking on the phone to clean the counter. After that you head off to the bathroom to take care of some business.
5min later, when you get out, you notice that your teenager hasn't moved.
The appropriate response from you would be....?

get your ass off the phone and do what i told you to do the first time 10 minutes ago!....Should there be any other response?

So, the correct response wouldn't be....
What are you doing?!
"The phone has a low battery and I have it plugged in to the wall behind me."
So? Get your ass off the counter!
"You put dog bows on the counter...what's the difference?"
Get off the counter and when you're done...wash it.
"Don't talk to me!"
Now...since the house has heard the last few lines....the correct reponse would now be.....?

You all are crazy.
You should have waited till she got off the phone and talked with her.
Show some respect.
