Photos of my Intercooler Installation
I installed a Type 3 Intercooler in my 2007 Speedster 150 215 SCIC. It is mounted vertically, on a bracket made from 1" angle aluminum, behind the bulkhead in the engine compartment. The vertical mounting makes sure the waterside of the exchanger is fully filled and that no condensate accumulates. I apologize for the poor photos. The light wasn't very good.
The first photo shows my engine compartment with the 4" short air intake on. Then I removed the intake to show the intercooler lines.
This arrangement seems to work pretty well.

I found this photo from when I was building this setup last December. It shows the intercooler on the bench and I had laid out the angle aluminum before drilling it.

what were your rpm and mph gains?

Before the adds, in December, with water temperature 50-60F, I was running 8000-8060 around 56.1 mph.
I didn't do a lot of testing with just the intake, but according to my notes, I was on the rev limiter at 8180 and 56.6 mph.
With intake and intercooler, I was hard on the rev limiter 8160-8200 at ~60% throttle and so added the 15/20R. Then I was running 7900-7950 at 58.7 mph by GPS.
I had a problem with the shaft and haven't really tested it in the summer yet (Been running the skis.). I hope to fix it tomorrow and test soon.
