    How to remove stuck pump shaft from intermediate shaft (midshaft)
    The picture speaks for it self, just wanted to share how to remove a VERY HARD BOND on the splines. I got to say I was just about to cut the shaft with a grinding wheel!!!!

    But my brother got this idea and it worked:

    that's how i do it too. add heat and its even easier.

    and whatever you do, don't use a backhoe to pull on the pump while the front of the ski is tied to a tree. the SMC aint that strong

    Heat makes it a lot easier, but I didn't use it because of the gasoline vapors that are always present in these compartments. I don't know the level of risk involved in it.

    I just put two pry bars on each side, put both feet on the bar and hit the nut and it came out slowly but surely. Mine was really stuck too btw.

    Pry against the transom from the outside?

    if your smart about it and can't smell gas, you should be ok with the torch.
