    Bad waterbox

Well I have had my boat at the dealer since May 1st to actually have the warranty work to fix the gio issue(bringing the 07 up to 09 standards plus my "pulley"). Well between the time it took Kawi to bless off on total warranty for this and parts delayed it wouldnhave been ready yesterday. However according to the dealer as they were putting the water box in the baffle broke loose (I think they dropped it and won't admit it) well that piece is on 2-3 week backorder from kaki since this is a warranty issue. So now I have again until the middle of July no boat. Is this common for a water box to do this? Ialready have invested $1300 this year for mods and can't afford a Riva box. I'm pisssssssssssssssed

Mine actually broke loose also. I had the rear end cut off as when the free flow exhaust is installed and had someone weld it back together and it held for the rest of the life of my ski.

I could do that but the dealer is giving me these options: A. Wait 2-3 weeks until Kawi sends a replacement, B. Order the oem here with next day shipping (550 some bucks I don't have), C. Get the riva with next day shipping (still more money than I have). Those are my options. Tooooooo bad the second water box won't work as I still have that stowed away in storage.

some of us have cut through the middle and bored more holes in the baffle anyway then welded it back together.

That's the easy way, I know. Dealer not willing to go that route. Is the baffle actuallly needed?

if you buy a riva they have no baffle thats why we just cut the stock one open and do the same but instead bore extra holes.

Get the Riva. The sound is worth it.

I'll vouch for that...... It does sound pretty cool... althought idleing for a while or going slow through a 5MPH ZONE.. it can get a tad annoying until you gets used to it!

    Waste of money ..........
Spend $50 and just cut the baffle out of the stock one or modify as it has been shown in other posts on here and save $200 and get the same result, all you need is a alloy welding shop,or anybody with a tig welder ( alloy boat repairs etc )

that way it will be fixed in the same day and back on the water ASAP

    been there done that !!
I Agree that the RIVA box is slightly over loud for a family ski

Tis true... took me a lot of time to think it over... quiet lake you might get a look or two... but on the ocean or the bay... it's all you..
