GSX Back Firing & stalls (97)
Got a 1997 GSX 787 that back fires and stalls when running, it ran good for a little while at first (5 minutes) then this started agian. We just replace the fuel lines, selector switch, rebuild the carbs and a new voltage regulator which old one the epoxy burned out of, thinking that would solve it. could it be the MPEM? any other ideas?

Check the new rectifier to see if it's now burnt. If the stator is shorted also, as many doo when the rectifier fails, it will burn up the replacement. You need to pull the front cover and inspect the stator, and inductve pickup for breakage.
