can someone please help me out

ok on my 2005 rxt i redid alot of stuff on it today! i added a stage 1 kit and redid the wear ring..while doing the riva intake i took out that black box next to the gas tank for more room...i noticed a long hose running along side of it hook upo towards the front but not connected in the back..does this hose attach somewhere or does it just lay there..
what is this hose for should it be connect or is it a breather hose of some sort???
    please help

also i broke the nipple off the beather on top of the gas pump does that really need to be hook up because there no way of attaching it back the plastic broke right off flush to the pump??

here are pics of the 1st hose i was talking about please let me know where its suppose to go?

    thank you!

1st pic what im talking about HOSE ON RIGHT>

That hose is your battery vent tube. If you broke off the fuel tank vent, you have a couple of options 1. replace it 2. enlarge the hole diameter and tap it out for a hose barb. Whatever you do... don't leave it as is!

Yes... thats your battery vent tube. On the positive side of the battery on the side up top... there is a little black nipple that points downwards.

I personally... would pull it out to repair it. You may also want to replace your fuel pump strainer while it's out.
