    My first 4-stroke

    Hi guys,
Just upgraded from my 2 stroke to a 4, a 2005 rxp to be exact. It has a grate, washers have been changed (receipt for job done) and a stainless pump liner with new standard imp. I'm looking at cutting open my waterbox like in the forum and cutting the baffles out. My aim is to have the exhaust come out the back with a nice billet tip.

Question is what do I need? Can I be pointed to the items in the online shop? is there a post with nifty pics like the waterbox one?

I know the OPAS needs binning to make way for it, but what am I making way for?!

what advantages are there in having a shorty fitted? is it just the fact you can remove the SC without moving the exhaust?

    cheers

You could do the waterbox mod without doing a thru hull exhaust out the back. It gives you better flow, which you probably won't notice, but much better sound. To do the thru hull you would need

This would give you the pipe to go out the back, the exhaust tip set up and couplers and clamps. It isn't a polished tip though, it is black. There are other tips you can order if you want something shiny. You can do the thru hull without doing the waterbox mod.

The OPAS removal is to make room for the pipe that comes with the kit above. The pipe that routes your exhause out the back goes right where the opas connecting arms inside the hull are. I have seen pictures of a thru hull with OPAS, some say it can be done it will just be a tight fit and require the exhaust hole to be moved a little.

There is a $100 OPAS removal kit, I have it. I don't recommend it. I belive it is the cause of some slight porposing issues I have that require me to carefully center my body weight at higher speeds. The upgraded kits are over $300 and work much better. But if all you want to spend is $100, don't sweat it. It is functional, you just get what you pay for.

Said to be the best ---> http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=352

You got the Riva Pros, much better than the $100 ones.
