does it go off after cooling off, if so might be stator failing when hot

Check you rectifier. They are notorious for overheating and going bad on the DI. I had to replace the one on mine a couple years ago. It is located behind the MPEM.

I would put a new AGM battery in. I had a simalur problem. Mine was fine at idle, the 12v warning would come on when I increased the RPM. I was told the these ski's don't have a good charging system on them, just enough to keep a fully charged battery up. I put a DEKA AGM 325 CCA battery in. The old battery was a AGM 275 CCA. Battery Wholesale said it called for the lager CCA. It was $84 out the door.

My 2001 GTX DI is having a similar situation except I get a "Maint" warning first then I get the "12v Low" warning. Issue here is that the "Maint" warning put ski in limp mode. If I charge the battery back up warnings go away ski runs like a dream for 4-5 hours / one weekend before needing a recharge.
Trying to determine between bad charging circut and bad battery ...
