Oil pump gear removal without opening case

Does the oil pump gear come out without opening up the case halfs on a Fuji 780. I want to go premix instead of oil injection on my new project. If this cannot be removed without splitting case would there be any issues with leaving gear in case and just putting on oil injection block plate.

Yep, You can just pull it out.

Might need to jiggle it, or turn the coupler over a bit by hand.

Yep, it'll pull out with a pair of pliars.

Not a good idea to leave it in. That's just 1 more moving part that is doing absolutely nothing.

Now if you're concerned about the small amount of air volume that's added without it, you can make/buy a slug to take up the space. OR, do what I do and grind the teeth off the gear and put it back in before you cap it off.
